Day 1
We’ll meet up in the Mariposa/Oakhurst area around 9AM, pack up, and begin our journey with a ~1.5 hour drive to Yosemite. We’ll have lunch at the trailhead then hit the trail around 2PM.
Day 2
Today, we’ll hike along Illilouette Creek before traversing the beautiful Panorama Trail towards Little Yosemite Valley. Along the way, we’ll pass Vernal and Nevada Falls, taking in sweeping views of Liberty Cap, Mt. Starr King, and Half Dome—tomorrow's objective.
Day 3
We’ll kick off the day with an early breakfast before setting out on our journey to Half Dome’s summit. The trail climbs steadily through the forest before opening up to reveal the iconic Cables Route. After a final climb, we’ll reach the summit at 8,847 feet, where sweeping views of Yosemite’s high country await. We’ll have lunch on the summit then return to camp for a relaxing evening.
Day 4
On our hike out, we’ll cross Nevada Falls once more before descending the John Muir Trail toward Vernal Falls. A final stroll along the Merced River will lead us to Happy Isles by noon.
**Due to the competitive nature of permits for Half Dome trailheads, this itinerary is subject to slight changes based on permit availability. We will always notify you in advance if any adjustments are made!

Travel & Logistics
For those traveling from out of state, we recommend flying into Fresno International Airport and booking a stay at one of the nearby hotels. WSA will coordinate transportation from the Fresno area to Yosemite. We'll reach out to you before your trip to confirm your travel details.
Booking
A $250 deposit is required to reserve your spot, with the remaining balance due 60 days before your departure date. Be sure to review our flexible cancellation policybefore booking.
Preperation
No prior backpacking experience is required to join; however, we recommend training before your trip. The route includes significant elevation gain and loss, particularly on summit day, where we reach altitudes of up to 9,000 feet.
Be sure your hiking shoes are well broken in, and you're comfortable with your gear. With personal and group gear, your pack will be about 30 - 40lbs. The best training for hiking is hiking—so load up your pack and hit your local trails!
If you’d like training tips or have any questions about what to expect, feel free to reach out to us at info@wsadventures.co. We’re happy to help you get prepared!
